3-Day Honeymoon Itinerary for Darjeeling in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Sunrise at Tiger Hill, Darjeeling
    10 minutes (3.5 km) from Darjeeling town

    Start your day early at 4 am, and head towards Tiger Hill, Darjeeling, which is famous for its stunning sunrise views over the Kanchenjunga mountain range. After capturing the beautiful sunrise, head towards Ghoom Monastery, which is one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Darjeeling. Learn about the history and culture of Tibetans and enjoy a peaceful environment here. For lunch, head to Keventer's, which is located near the Mall, and enjoy their signature English breakfast and delicious coffee. In the afternoon, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which has a museum displaying mountaineering equipment used by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary during their Everest expedition. End your day with a scenic ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway from Darjeeling station to Ghoom station.

  2. Day 2: Tea Gardens and Peace Pagoda

    Start your day by visiting Happy Valley Tea Estate, which is located at the end of Lebong Cart Road. Enjoy the scenic views of the tea gardens, learn about the tea-making process and taste some fresh tea. After that, head to the Japanese Peace Pagoda, which is a symbol of peace and harmony. Enjoy the picturesque views of Darjeeling from the top of the hill and walk around the temple. For lunch, head to Glenary's Bakery and Cafe, which serves delicious baked goods and sandwiches. In the afternoon, visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, which is famous for its breeding programs of endangered species like the Red Panda and Snow Leopard. End your day by taking a walk around the Mall Road and enjoy some shopping at the local markets.

  3. Day 3: Mirik Lake and Pashupati Market
    1 hour 30 minutes (49 km) from Darjeeling town

    Start your day by taking a scenic drive towards Mirik Lake, which is surrounded by lush green hills and is a popular spot for boating and fishing. Enjoy the serene environment and take a walk around the lake. For lunch, head to the Orange Orchid Resort, which is located near the lake and offers a stunning view of the valley. After lunch, head towards Pashupati Market, which is located on the Indo-Nepal border and is famous for its cheap clothing, electronics, and other goods. Make sure to carry your passport as it is required to cross the border. End your day by watching a movie at the Capitol Cinema Hall, which is one of the oldest movie halls in Darjeeling.
