Nature lover's itinerary for 5 days in Ooty in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    14 minutes (4.2 km) from Ooty Bus Stand

    Start your day with a serene and peaceful morning by visiting the Ooty Lake. Enjoy boating and pedal boating in the calm waters of the lake and explore the beautiful surroundings. Head to the Thread Garden in the afternoon and witness the beauty of the place which is decorated with flowers and plants, all made of thread. In the evening, visit the Government Museum, which has a collection of tribal artifacts, sculptures, and weaponry.

  2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    30 minutes (9.3 km) from Ooty Lake

    Start your day early and visit the Doddabetta Peak, the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills. Enjoy the scenic view of the valley from the top. In the afternoon, visit the Rose Garden, the largest rose garden in India which has more than 20,000 varieties of roses. In the evening, visit the St. Stephen's Church, a beautiful colonial-style church built-in 1820.

  3. Day 3: Pykara Falls and Pykara Lake
    50 minutes (22 km) from Doddabetta Peak

    Head to Pykara Falls in the morning which is a series of two waterfalls surrounded by lush greenery. Enjoy the magnificent view of the falls and click some pictures. In the afternoon, visit the Pykara Lake and enjoy boating in the lake. In the evening, visit the Toda Hamlet, a small village of the Toda tribes, to learn about their culture and traditions.

  4. Day 4: Avalanche Lake

    Visit Avalanche Lake in the morning, a picturesque lake surrounded by thick forests and mountains. Enjoy trekking and camping in the beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon, visit the Ketti Valley Viewpoint, the second-largest valley in the world. Enjoy the scenic view of the valley from the viewpoint. In the evening, visit the Tea Museum, which showcases the history and evolution of tea plantations in the Nilgiri hills.

  5. Day 5: Emerald Lake
    1 hour 5 minutes (20 km) from Avalanche Lake
