Chicago Family-Friendly 2-Day Itinerary in July 2024

  1. Day 1: Millennium Park
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Downtown Chicago

    Morning: Start your day at Millennium Park by taking a family photo in front of the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture, also known as "The Bean." Then, enjoy a picnic breakfast on the Great Lawn and watch the Crown Fountain's unique water display.

    Afternoon: Take a stroll through the Lurie Garden's 5-acre oasis, showcasing a variety of wildflowers, shrubs, and trees. Then, head to the Art Institute of Chicago, the second-largest art museum in the United States, featuring works by Picasso, Chagall, and Van Gogh.

    Evening: End your day with a free concert or movie at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, an outdoor amphitheater, and grab a Chicago-style hot dog from the Park Grill Cafe.

  2. Day 2: Navy Pier
    15 minutes (2.2 miles) from Millennium Park

    Morning: Start your day at Navy Pier, where you can take a ride on the 200-foot-high Ferris wheel for panoramic views of the city skyline and Lake Michigan. Then, visit the Chicago Children's Museum, offering hands-on exhibits and interactive activities for kids of all ages.
