4-Day Coorg Honeymoon Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    30 minutes (9.7 km) from Madikeri town

    Start your morning with a visit to the stunning Abbey Falls. With the water cascading down from a height of 70 feet, the misty atmosphere and the lush greenery around will make you feel like you're in paradise. Afternoon, head to Madikeri Fort. This historical fort has seen several battles and rulers over the years. You can see artifacts from the past, and enjoy scenic views of the town from the site. In the evening, visit Raja's Seat, this beautiful garden, and the sunset viewpoint that offers breathtaking views of the valley and the hills.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour (28 km) from Madikeri town

    Experience nature at its best with a visit to Dubare Elephant Camp. Spend a morning with the gentle giants and watch them bathe, feed and interact with their mahouts. Afternoon, head to Nisargadhama, a serene island formed by the river Kaveri. You can take a walk on the hanging bridge, go boating, or just relax amidst the bamboo groves and the deer park. In the evening, visit the Madikeri town market to indulge in some shopping.

  3. Day 3: Talakaveri and Bhagamandala
    2 hours (48 km) from Madikeri town

    Start your day early with a drive to Talakaveri, the origin of the river Kaveri. The place is surrounded by beautiful hills and offers a stunning view of the valley. Afternoon, head to Bhagamandala, which is known for its confluence of three rivers and a beautiful temple. In the evening, visit the Omkareshwara Temple, a pilgrimage center that combines both Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture.

  4. Day 4: Iruppu Falls and Nagarhole National Park
    3 hours (95 km) from Madikeri town

    Start your day with a visit to the Iruppu Falls, a picturesque waterfall nestled in the Brahmagiri mountain range. Afternoon, head out for a wildlife safari at Nagarhole National Park. The park is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, and several other animals and birds. In the evening, visit the Chelavara Falls, a hidden gem surrounded by coffee and spice plantations.

Don't miss out on visiting the coffee plantations. You can take a guided tour and learn about the coffee-making process. Also, consider taking a day trip to the nearby town of Kushalnagar, which is known for its Buddhist monastery and Tibetan settlement.
