In the afternoon, visit the nearby Rankala Lake, a picturesque spot with boating facilities. In the evening, head out to the Kolhapur Night Market, where you can find local handicrafts, clothing, and street food.

  2. Day 2: Explore the New Palace Museum
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Mahalaxmi Temple

    The New Palace Museum, built in the early 20th century, served as the residence of the Bhosale Maharajas of Kolhapur. The museum houses an impressive collection of weapons, costumes, paintings, and other artifacts related to the history of the region. In the morning, visit the museum and learn about the history of Kolhapur. In the afternoon, head out to the Jyotiba Temple, a major pilgrimage site located on a hilltop about 20 km from the city. In the evening, head to the Panchganga Ghat, a scenic spot on the banks of the Panchganga River, to watch the sunset.

If you have time, make a day trip to the nearby Panhala Fort, a historic fortification located about 20 km from Kolhapur.
