4-Day Udupi Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: St. Mary's Island
    50 minutes (20.4 km) from Mangalore Airport

    Start your day early with a visit to St. Mary's Island, a beautiful island off the coast of Udupi. The ferry ride takes around 30 minutes and offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. On the island, you can relax on the soft white sand, swim in the crystal clear water, or explore the unique hexagonal rock formations. Afternoon is the perfect time for a picnic lunch by the beach. In the evening, head back to mainland and visit the Malpe Beach to see the beautiful sunset.

  2. Day 2: Udupi Sri Krishna Matha

    Visit the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in South India. The temple was founded in the 13th century by the philosopher-saint Sri Madhvacharya and is dedicated to Lord Krishna. You can also visit the Anantheshwara Temple, which is adjacent to the Sri Krishna Matha. In the afternoon, explore the quaint streets of Udupi and try the famous local cuisine, such as Masala Dosa, Idli, and Goli Baje. In the evening, catch a light and sound show at the Sri Krishna Matha.

  3. Day 3: Kudlu Theertha Falls and Agumbe
    1 hour 40 minutes (61.8 km) from Udupi Sri Krishna Matha

    Take a day trip to the Kudlu Theertha Falls, a beautiful waterfall located in the dense forests of Agumbe. The falls are around 300 feet high and offer a stunning view of the surrounding greenery. You can take a dip in the cool water or just relax by the waterfall. Afternoon is the perfect time for a drive through the lush forests of Agumbe, also known as the "Cherrapunji of South India". In the evening, head back to Udupi and relax at your hotel.

  4. Day 4: Kaup Beach and Light House
