A 2-Day Coorg Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Talacauvery
    1 hour 10 minutes (28.7 miles) from Coorg

    In the morning, visit Talacauvery, the birthplace of River Cauvery. Take a dip in the holy tank and offer prayers at the nearby temple. Afternoon, head to Bhagamandala, located at the confluence of three rivers. Visit the ancient Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple. In the evening, visit the stunning Abbey Falls, surrounded by lush coffee and spice plantations.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour 20 minutes (34.5 miles) from Talacauvery

    In the morning, head to Dubare Elephant Camp and watch elephants being bathed and fed. You can also take an elephant ride through the jungle. In the afternoon, visit the Namdroling Monastery, the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism outside of Tibet. In the evening, head to Raja's Seat, a popular garden with a stunning view of the sunset.

Recommendations

Coorg is famous for its coffee plantations. You can visit one of the plantations and learn about the coffee making process. Another popular activity is trekking in the nearby hills. You can also take a day trip to the nearby Nagarhole National Park. Don't forget to try the local cuisine, especially the pork and bamboo shoot curry.
