2-Day Itinerary for Coorg in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    20 minutes (5.2 miles) from Madikeri

    Abbey Falls is a stunning waterfall located in the midst of lush greenery. Start your day with a refreshing visit to the falls and take in the breathtaking sight. In the morning, enjoy the serene surroundings and the picturesque views while taking a walk around the falls. Post-lunch, you can head to the nearby coffee plantation and learn about the coffee-making process. You can also try some delicious local coffee. In the evening, visit the Omkareshwara Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It has a unique mix of Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour 15 minutes (30 miles) from Madikeri

    Start your day early and head to Dubare Elephant Camp, a forest camp where you can interact with elephants and learn about their daily lives. You can also take an elephant safari and walk with them to the river for their bath. Afternoon, head to the Namdroling Monastery, one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India. Witness the beautiful golden temple and learn about the Tibetan culture and traditions. In the evening, visit the Raja’s Seat, a beautiful park that offers stunning views of the sunset.

Recommendations

Coorg is a place with many hidden gems, and a few other places you may consider visiting are Talakaveri, Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, and Tadiandamol Peak. For a day trip, you can visit the nearby Nagarhole National Park, known for its wildlife and scenic beauty.
