3-Day Itinerary for Coorg in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Talakaveri
    1 hour 40 minutes (47 miles) from Coorg

    Talakaveri is the place where the river Kaveri originates and is considered a sacred place by many. Start your morning by taking a dip in the holy pond and then head to Brahmagiri peak for a mesmerizing view of the surrounding mountains. Afternoon can be spent exploring the nearby Nisargadhama Forest and Elephant Camp. In the evening, visit the Bhagamandala temple before heading back to Coorg.

  2. Day 2: Abbey Falls
    40 minutes (12 miles) from Coorg

    Start your day with a visit to the breathtaking Abbey Falls. Spend the morning exploring the surrounding coffee plantations and learning about the coffee-making process. In the afternoon, head to the Dubare Elephant Camp for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of feeding and bathing elephants. In the evening, visit the Omkareshwara Temple which is a beautiful mix of Gothic and Islamic architecture.

  3. Day 3: Coorg Wildlife Society
    30 minutes (9 miles) from Coorg

    Begin your day with a visit to the Coorg Wildlife Society where you can observe and learn about the local wildlife. In the afternoon, head to Raja's Seat for a beautiful sunset view and a peaceful walk in the garden. End your day with a visit to the Madikeri Fort and museum that gives a glimpse of the history of Coorg.

Do not miss out on the opportunity to go trekking in the nearby mountain ranges. A day trip to Nagarhole National Park is also highly recommended for a chance to spot some exotic wildlife.
