3-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary in Wayanad - October 2023

  1. Day 1: Ride to Chembra Peak
    1 hour 15 minutes (30 miles) from Wayanad

    In the morning, ride your motorcycle to Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the top is steep and will take around 3-4 hours. But the panoramic view from the top is worth the effort. You can have a picnic lunch at the peak before heading back down. In the afternoon, make your way to Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake surrounded by lush forests. Here, you can go boating or take a leisurely stroll along the lake. In the evening, visit the Edakkal Caves, which have ancient stone carvings and paintings. The cave is open till 5 pm, so make sure to plan accordingly.

  2. Day 2: Explore Banasura Sagar Dam and Soochipara Falls
    1 hour 30 minutes (37 miles) from Wayanad

    Start your day at the Banasura Sagar Dam, which is the largest earth dam in India and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You can go boating or kayaking on the dam's reservoir or take a nature walk around the area. In the afternoon, head to Soochipara Falls, which is a three-tiered waterfall surrounded by dense forests. You can take a dip in the cool waters or hike up to the top of the falls for a bird's eye view.     On your last day in Wayanad, ride to Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is located in a picturesque valley and is surrounded by hills and forests. You can take a dip in the nearby Papanasini River, which is believed to wash away sins. In the afternoon, visit the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, which has a large population of elephants, deer, and monkeys. You can go on a jeep safari to explore the sanctuary and spot wildlife. The sanctuary is open from 7 am to 10 am and from 2 pm to 5 pm. In the evening, head back to Wayanad.
