A Two-Day Itinerary for Kodaikanal in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Coakers Walk
    15 minutes (3.4 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Morning: Start your day by taking a peaceful stroll along the Coakers Walk. The walk offers breathtaking views of the valley and is perfect for nature lovers.

    Afternoon: Head to Bryant Park for a picnic lunch. The park boasts of a wide variety of flowers and hybrids, including the Kurinji flower which blooms once every 12 years. Here you can also enjoy a boat ride on the serene Kodaikanal Lake.

    Evening: Visit the Pillar Rocks, a set of three giant rock pillars that stand tall at a height of 400 feet. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and breathtaking views of the valley from here.

  2. Day 2: Pine Forest and Guna Caves
    20 minutes (5.6 km) from Coakers Walk

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the Pine Forest, which is perfect for a morning walk or a jog. You can also go horse riding here.

    Afternoon: Head to Guna Caves, also known as Devil's Kitchen. These caves are said to have been formed by a man-made landslide and are an important location in the Tamil movie "Guna". However, be prepared to climb steep stairs and walk through narrow caves to reach the top.

    Evening: Visit the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, which is one of the oldest solar observatories in the world. You can learn about the various instruments used to study the sun and the solar system, and also witness the beautiful sunset from here.
