Two-Day Itinerary for Coorg in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    20 minutes (6.5 miles) from Madikeri

    Morning: Witness the breathtaking beauty of the Abbey Falls amidst the lush green Western Ghats. The falls are located in the middle of a coffee estate where one can take a stroll through the plantation to reach the falls. The sight and sound of the water gushing down from a height of 70 feet is sure to rejuvenate you.

    Afternoon: Visit the Raja's Seat, a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains. Enjoy panoramic views of the Western Ghats from this viewpoint.

    Evening: Explore the Madikeri Fort, constructed in the late 17th century. Visit the museum inside the fort to learn about the history of Coorg and its rulers.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour 15 minutes (28.5 miles) from Madikeri

    Morning: Head to the Dubare Elephant Camp to experience the unique opportunity of interacting with elephants. Bathe and feed them while learning about their lifestyle and habits from the mahouts.

    Afternoon: Visit the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple. Marvel at the splendid architecture and the serene atmosphere of the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage.

    Evening: End your trip on a high note at the Chiklihole Reservoir. Take a boat ride to witness the stunning sunset over the calm waters of the reservoir.
