Start your trip with some leisurely sightseeing of Athens' most iconic landmarks. Begin at the Acropolis Museum, a modern space displaying artefacts from the Acropolis ancient citadel, followed by a visit to the famous Parthenon Temple located on top of the hill. Then hike over to Filopappou Hill, a nature reserve with amazing views of the city.
Take a break from the city and unwind on the sandy shores of Astir Beach, located in the Athens Riviera. Enjoy the crystal-clear water and picturesque views before heading to Vouliagmeni Lake, an all-year-round warm-water lake that offers a unique swimming experience. The lake also boasts natural hot springs and underwater caves that are ideal for exploration.
For your last day in Athens, take a stroll in the charming Plaka district, a picturesque neighbourhood with narrow streets and neoclassical buildings. Enjoy some souvenir shopping or relax in one of the many outdoor cafes. Visit the National Gardens, a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city, with lush vegetation, lakes, and ancient ruins.
If you have more time, consider visiting the stunning Temple of Olympian Zeus, located near the Acropolis. If you are a history buff, check out the Ancient Agora or the Roman Agora, both located in the center of Athens. For some culinary relaxation, have a traditional Greek dinner in one of the many restaurants in the buzzing Psiri district or try some local street food at the Monastiraki Flea Market. If you have less time, skip Vouliagmeni Lake or omit some attractions from the Plaka district.
