  1. Day 1: Colosseum & Roman Forum

Useful tips

If you have more time, add a day trip to Pompeii, an ancient city preserved in time by Mount Vesuvius's volcanic ash eruption. If you have less time, skip the Vatican City, or visit specific areas within it to save time. Since the lines at attractions can be long, book your tickets online beforehand. Wear comfortable shoes since there is a lot of walking required. Also, keep in mind that some of the sites may be closed on certain days, check beforehand to avoid disappointment.
