Volunteering in Kedarnath: A 6-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Kedarnath
    From Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun to Kedarnath (8 hours, 226 km)

    Check-in at the Kedarnath Yatra Camp and attend an orientation on your volunteering program. The camp provides comfortable accommodation options for trekkers and travellers.

  2. Day 2: Kedarnath Trek, Morning Aarti, and Village Visit
    From Kedarnath Yatra Camp to Kedarnath Temple (1 hour trek)

    Start early in the morning for the Kedarnath Temple trek. Take a dip in the holy Tapt Kund and attend the morning Aarti. After Darshan, spend some time visiting nearby Village Sonprayag and acquaint yourselves with the locals and their traditions.

  3. Day 3: Volunteering at Kedarnath Temple
    From Kedarnath Temple to Vasuki Taal (6 km trek)

    Volunteer with the temple trustees and help the locals with relief work and support services. Post volunteering, trek to Vasuki Taal, a high altitude lake with scenic beauty and camping options.

  4. Day 4: Visit to Bhairavnath Temple and Kedar Dome Peak
    From Kedarnath to Bhairavnath Temple (5 km trek) to Kedarnath Helipad (1.5 hours drive)

    After the volunteering, trek to Bhairavnath temple for a panoramic view of Kedarnath. Head to Kedarnath helipad and take a helicopter ride to Kedar Dome Peak. Spend some time at the peak soaking in the magnificent views of the mountains.

  5. Day 5: Visit to Triyuginarayan and Gaurikund Hot Springs
    From Kedarnath to Triyuginarayan (10 km drive) to Gaurikund (13 km drive)

    Visit Triyuginarayan Temple, the place where Lord Shiva and Parvati got married according to Hindu mythology. Post visit, relax at the hot springs at Gaurikund and soak in the serene beauty of the place.

  6. Day 6: Depart from Kedarnath
    From Kedarnath to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (8 hours, 226 km)

    After six days of volunteering in Kedarnath, pack your bags, and depart for Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun with memories for a lifetime.
