Start your day at Gokarna by visiting the famous Om Beach. The beach is shaped like the auspicious "Om" symbol from Hinduism and is a popular spot for water sports, sunbathing, and dolphin spotting. You can also take a short trek to the nearby Half Moon Beach. After enjoying the beach, head to the Mahabaleshwara Temple, one of the most significant Shiva temples in South India. Marvel at the famous Atmalinga, a sacred and enigmatic deity that attracts devotees from far and wide.
On your second day, head to Kudle Beach, a more secluded and peaceful alternative to Om Beach. Here, you can relax on the white sand and take a dip in the blue waters of the Arabian Sea. If you're feeling adventurous, try surfing or paddleboarding. Later, make your way to the Mirjan Fort, a 17th-century fortification known for its intricate architecture and historical significance. Walk around the fort, take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape, and learn about the fascinating history of the region.
For an extended stay, you can add a visit to the secluded Half Moon Beach or the tranquil Paradise Beach. If you have less time, you can skip the Mahabaleshwara Temple and spend more time at Om and Kudle Beach. Or, if you're interested in seeing wildlife, you can visit the nearby Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park.
