Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Waynad. The trek to the summit takes around 3-4 hours which is a bit challenging but definitely worth it for the stunning views of the valley from the top. You can also see a heart-shaped lake which is believed to have never dried up. Don't forget to obtain a permit from the forest office before the trek.
The Edakkal Caves are home to ancient carvings and paintings that date back to the Neolithic era. The climb to the caves can be a bit steep and requires a moderate level of fitness, but once you reach the top, the view is spectacular. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry a bottle of water with you.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to Banasura Sagar Dam, one of the largest earthen dams in India. The dam surrounded by the Banasura hills offers breathtaking views.
If you have less time, you can skip the Edakkal Caves and instead visit the Soochipara Falls, a three-tiered waterfall in Vellarimala.
