Begin your trip with a visit to Triveni Ghat, the biggest and most famous ghat in Rishikesh. It's located at the confluence of three holy rivers - Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati, where people take a dip in the holy water. In the evening, witness the aarti ceremony, where people come together and offer prayers to the river.
On your second day, explore the abandoned ashram, made famous by the Beatles in the late 60s and early 70s. Today, it's adorned with vibrant street art murals and graffiti, making it a perfect spot for your next Instagram picture. In the afternoon, head over to Rajaji National Park, known for its diverse flora and fauna - from tigers, elephants, and leopards to a large variety of birds and butterflies.
On your last day, take a stroll across the iconic Laxman Jhula, a bridge that stretches across the Ganges River connecting the two villages of Tapovan and Jonk. At the end of the Jhula, take a dip at Ganga Beach, located closeby, where you can enjoy sand and sun, and even go white-water rafting.
If you have more than 3 days, consider visiting Neer Garh Waterfall or opt for a yoga and meditation retreat. If you have less than 3 days, prioritize visiting Triveni Ghat and Laxman Jhula. Avoid traveling during peak season (June-August) due to heavy rainfall and the off-season (December-January) due to chilly weather. Pack sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and comfortable shoes with good grip for hiking.
