3-Day Itinerary for Kodaikanal

  1. Day 1: Coaker's Walk
    10 minutes (2.1 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Experience stunning panoramic views on this 1-kilometre paved pedestrian path. During the Victorian times, this was a popular location for evening walks for colonials, featuring a serene, picturesque view of the valley all around. Built in 1872, it extends along the edge of a steep slope. Don't forget to take some amazing pictures and rest awhile in the benches provided.

  2. Day 2: Pillar Rocks Viewpoint
    30 minutes (7.3 km) from Coaker's Walk

    Enjoy the stunning views of the valley and the pillar-shaped rocks standing 400 feet tall. The misty clouds make for a too-good-to-miss background. It consists of three pillars, and it's believed that these were a result of an explosive volcanic eruption. The viewpoints have mini shops and eateries to have some snacks while enjoying the scenery.

  3. Day 3: Bryant Park
    20 minutes (3.4 km) from Pillar Rocks Viewpoint

    Spend the day in a beautiful Botanical Garden, which is home to a unique collection of flowers, hybrids, and grafts. This park is also a significant place to spend leisure time with your family. You can enjoy a lovely walk, boating, and horse riding. The park has plenty of tea/coffee/ice cream vendors. The park also conducts an annual horticulture show, which is an excellent opportunity to see amazing flower arrangements and competitions.

  • Mountainside Fruit Farms: spend a day visiting the orchards, fruit-processing centre and buy farm-fresh produce from here. (1 hour, ₹150)
  • Kodaikanal Solar Observatory: Located at the top of the hill, it is one of the oldest observatories in the country. (1 hour, free)
  • Guna Cave: notorious for its role in the movie "Guna" starring Kamal Haasan. (30 mins, ₹5)

  • Spend one day at Coaker's walk and one day at Bryant park.
If you have more time:
  • Kodai lake: This artificial lake is a great location to spend some quality time and go boating in a rowboat or pedal boat. It is surrounded by trees from all over the world and has enchanting scenic views. (2-3 hours, ₹30-₹200)
