Visit the famous Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, which stands amidst the majestic snow-capped Himalayas. This ancient temple is a major pilgrimage site, attracting thousands of devotees every year. You can also trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund, which is a beautiful experience in itself. The trek takes around 5-6 hours, but the stunning views make it all worthwhile.
Located amidst the Chaukhamba peaks, Vasuki Tal is a beautiful high altitude lake that offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The trek to the lake starts from Kedarnath and takes around 8-10 hours, depending on your pace. The trail passes through lush green forests, rocky terrain, and several picturesque waterfalls. It is recommended to take a local guide with you as the trail can be tricky in some places.
If you have more time, you can also visit other nearby places like Triyuginarayan Temple or Sonprayag. If you have less time, you can skip the Vasuki Tal trek and visit the Bhairav Temple, which is located in Kedarnath itself.
