Start your day by visiting the Shevaroy Temple, an ancient Hindu temple located atop the Shevaroy hills. The temple's architecture and the panoramic view of the hills will leave you spellbound.
The Grange is a beautiful colonial bungalow built in the 1820s. The bungalow-turned-museum has an extensive collection of artifacts and photographs showcasing Yercaud's colonial past.
After soaking in history, head to the Anna Park for a relaxing afternoon. Sprawling over an area of nearly 6 acres, the park features lush gardens and a play area for children.
Drive to Pagoda Point, one of the best viewpoints in Yercaud. A pagoda-like structure and a viewing tower stand atop the hill providing panoramic views of the region's valleys, hills, and town center.
After enjoying the breathtaking views from Pagoda Point, head to Karadiyur Viewpoint, a lesser-known viewpoint. The place offers a panoramic view of both Salem and Yercaud at the same time.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to the Lady's Seat viewpoint, Kiliyur Falls, or the Deer Park. For a shorter trip, you can skip The Grange or Karadiyur Viewpoint. Don't forget to carry bottled water and comfortable walking shoes as hills require a lot of walking. Lastly, try the local dishes - varuval and biryani - for a great culinary experience.
