Begin your adventure by hiking up to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Waynad. It will be a moderate trek but the view from the top of the heart-shaped lake is worth every effort. A permit is required and it's best to start early to avoid the crowds.
In the morning, explore the Edakkal Caves, where you can observe ancient rock etchings and cave paintings. Afterward, travel to the Soochipara Falls, where you'll be amazed at the sight of the three-tiered cascading waterfall. It’s a 20-minute hike through the lush green forest to the falls.
Indulge yourselves in the beauty of Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earth dam in India with its bewitching beauty and peaceful ambiance. After visiting the Dam, visit the Tea Estate and immerse in its history by tasting a few cups of their best tea by strolling into its vast gardens or trek into the woods surrounding it.
If you have more time, you can add a Jungle Safari at Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also visit the Pookode Lake, offering serene waters, or the serene village of Pozhuthana known for its spice gardens. If time is limited, remove a location, such as Soochipara Falls or Banasura Sagar Dam.
