Start your trip with a splash at the beautiful Abbey Falls. Surrounded by lush greenery, the falls offer a breathtaking view and a rejuvenating experience. You can take a dip in the cool water or stand close to the fall and get drenched. You can also take a short trek from the nearby coffee plantation to the falls.
Next stop, visit the ancient and stunning Omkareshwara Temple. Built-in 1820, the temple is a blend of Gothic and Islamic architecture. Explore the beautiful granite and intricate carvings within the temple. Do not forget to strike a pose in front of the pond in the inner courtyard.
If you fancy elephants, head over to the Dubare Elephant Camp. Witness the majestic elephants in their natural habitat surrounded by the Cauvery river and lush forest. You can feed them, bathe them, and even take a ride on them. And while you're at it, don't forget to take a few Insta-worthy pictures.
On day two, start early and drive to the source of the Cauvery river, Talacauvery. Take in the serene and blissful surroundings and watch the Cauvery river emerge from the Brahmagiri Hills. You can explore the nearby temples, and if you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the rare and elusive Golden Mahseer fish.
Next, drive twenty minutes to the picturesque Bhagamandala. Famous for its confluence of three rivers, the Kaveri, the Kannike, and the mythical Sujyoti, Bhagamandala is an important pilgrimage site. Take a dip in the holy water or witness the unique mix of cultures in the architecture of the nearby temples.
End your trip with a mesmerizing sunset view from the Raja's Seat. The view of the sunset over the rolling hills and the winding roads is breathtaking. You can enjoy a musical fountain show, walk around the gardens, or sit back and relax with some piping hot tea and local delicacies.
If you have additional time, you can visit the Namdroling Monastery, famous for its Tibetan architecture and the presence of over 5000 monks. Or, if you want to take a break from the sight-seeing, you can head to the nearby coffee plantations and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
However, If you have less time, you can skip either Talacauvery and Bhagamandala or Dubare Elephant Camp.
