Hike up to the top of Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad, for spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The trek is challenging but well worth it, as you'll pass through lush forests, rolling meadows, and a heart-shaped lake along the way.
Take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Soochipara Waterfalls, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and lush greenery. In the afternoon, head to Kuruva Island, a serene and stunning uninhabited island that is home to rare birds, orchids, and herbs.
Explore the ancient Edakkal Caves, known for their unique carvings and rock art. In the evening, visit the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India, for a scenic boat ride and tranquil sunset views.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Thirunelli Temple, a historic Hindu temple nestled in the hills, or the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, home to elephants, tigers, and other exotic wildlife. If you have less time, skip the Banasura Sagar Dam and spend more time exploring the caves or waterfalls. Wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and be sure to check opening times and weather conditions before you go.
