Rishikesh: A 3-Day Spiritual Journey

  1. Day 1: Triveni Ghat
10 minutes (2.5 km) from Lakshman Jhula

Triveni Ghat is a sacred bathing spot where three rivers - Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati - converge. It is believed that taking a dip in the holy water cleanses one's sins. Every evening, a mesmerizing Ganga Aarti is performed here, where people offer lamps and flowers to the river amidst chanting of mantras and ringing of bells. Witnessing the ceremony is an unforgettable experience.

Beatles Ashram, officially known as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram, was once the residence of the legendary British rockers, who came here in 1968 to learn Transcendental Meditation from the famous Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The abandoned complex has now become a popular tourist attraction filled with colorful graffiti and art installations. Visitors can also attend meditation and yoga sessions organized by local groups.
