You can also go for a surfing lesson or wind up your day with a long walk on the sandy shores.
The Janardhana Swami Temple of Varkala is a famous Hindu pilgrimage destination, believed to be 2000 years old. The temple is famous for its unique architectural style and serene surroundings. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is considered as one of the 108 ancient holy places of worship for Vaishnavites. You will find various small shrines, sculptures and ancient murals here depicting various Hindu gods and legends.
If you have more time, you can consider visiting the Varkala Aquarium or Kappil Beach. You can also include a visit to the Anjengo Fort, which is just a short drive away along the coast. If you have less time, you can combine both activities on Day 1 and also visit the shops and restaurants located at the temple junction.
