Starting off our trip, we're taking you to the famous Chelsea Market. Here, you'll find a plethora of artisanal food vendors who take pride in their craft - from fresh baked goods to locally sourced seafood, you're sure to find something to delight in. Although you could spend hours here, we recommend trying out a classic Italian sandwich from Alidoro, or popping over to Los Tacos No. 1 for a taste of authentic Mexican tacos. Finish off with a sweet treat from Fat Witch Bakery and grab some of their signature brownies to take with you.
Today we're heading over to Astoria, a neighborhood in Queens that's home to a diverse range of cuisines. We recommend starting with a traditional Greek breakfast at Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company, followed by a visit to Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden for some classic Czech food and a stein of beer. For a sweet treat, make your way over to Monika's Cafe Bar for some Austrian delicacies - from strudel to sachertorte, this spot's got you covered.
For our final day, we're exploring the Lower East Side, an up-and-coming neighborhood that's home to some of the city's best eats. Start off with a classic bagel and lox from Russ & Daughters, a New York institution that's been around for over 100 years. Follow it up with a visit to Katz's Delicatessen for their famous pastrami sandwich, or get adventurous with some eclectic flavors at Taqueria Diana. End your trip on a sweet note with a visit to Black Seed Bagels for their iconic and Instagram-worthy black and white sesame bagel with vanilla cream cheese.
If you have more time, we recommend checking out other neighborhood favorites like Eataly in the Flatiron District, Peter Luger Steak House in Williamsburg, or Sugarfish in Flatiron. If you're looking to spend less, we recommend skipping a sit-down meal at Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden, as the prices can add up quickly. Instead, opt for a walk around Astoria and sample smaller bites from different vendors.
