The Ooty Lake is a large artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery. Go boating on the lake or simply sit back and enjoy the scenic beauty. Enjoy a horse ride or a toy train ride around the lake. Several food stalls offer delicious local snacks.
Dodabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiri Hills. The peak offers mesmerising views of the surrounding tea estates and valleys. A telescope tower at the top allows tourists to get a closer look at the surroundings. The peak is also home to many bird species and monkeys.
If you have more time, you can visit the Government Botanical Gardens, tea estates, and the Thread Garden. If you have less time, skip visiting the Ooty Lake but do not miss Dodabetta Peak. Wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes, especially for Dodabetta Peak as it can be chilly. Bring cash as most places do not accept cards. Avoid travelling during the monsoon season as landslides and roadblocks are common.
