Varkala – A Wonderful Seaside Retreat

Located near the beach, the temple premises also houses 'Pushkarini', a water body that is believed to have holy properties.

Built-in 1695 by the British East India Company, this fort has seen many battles and changes of rulership over the years, including the Dutch, French and the British. The fort is enclosed by a deep moat and boasts of well-preserved structures like barracks, armory, and a chapel.

    Kappil Lake is an excellent spot to complete your itinerary. The serene and placid lake is surrounded by lush greenery and is a popular spot for boating.
