Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in Ooty, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and town. You can also visit the Tea Factory and Botanical Gardens nearby. Note: Botanical Gardens are closed on Tuesdays.
Ooty Lake is a serene spot for boating, picnicking and enjoying a spectacular sunset. A visit to the Rose Garden, which boasts over 2000 varieties of roses, is also recommended. Note: Rose Garden is closed on Fridays.
Avalanche Lake is a hidden gem that is off the beaten path. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts, offering trekking, camping and fishing opportunities. Note: Avalanche Lake is closed during the monsoon season from October to December.
If you have extra time, head to the nearby town of Coonoor to see the stunning Sim's Park and Dolphin's Nose Viewpoint. If you have less time, skip Avalanche Lake and visit Pykara Waterfalls instead. It's just a 30-minute drive from Ooty and offers beautiful scenic views.
