To get around Venice easily, opt for a water taxi or other private boat. While more expensive than public water buses (vaporetti), you can save valuable time and reach destinations off the beaten path. A 30-minute taxi ride can cost up to €80.
If you have more time in Venice, consider visiting nearby islands such as Murano, Burano, and Torcello. If you have less time, skip the Rialto Market and head straight to the Gondola Ride. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes for walking on the city's cobbled streets.
Venice has one airport: Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE). It is located 8 km north of Venice's city center and is easily accessible by boat or taxi. Another airport, Treviso Airport (TSF), is located about 30 km away and is often used by budget airlines.
