The Ooty Botanical Gardens are a must-visit for nature lovers. Spread across 55 acres, the gardens have over 600 species of plants and trees. Children will especially love the toy train that runs through the gardens. Don't forget to take a stroll along the Toda Hill and experience panoramic views of the Ooty landscape.
A visit to Ooty is incomplete without seeing Pykara Waterfall. Surrounded by lush greenery, the waterfall is a sight to behold. You can take a dip in the cool water or hire a boat and go for a serene ride in Pykara Lake. If you're lucky, you may spot some wildlife in the nearby Pykara Reserve Forest.
The Government Rose Garden, also known as the Jayalalithaa Rose Garden, is a beautiful place to spend your last day in Ooty. Spread across 10 acres, it's home to over 20,000 varieties of roses. Take a leisurely stroll through the gardens or sit on one of the benches and relax. You can also buy some plants or souvenirs from the garden's nursery.
If you have more time, you can visit other attractions in Ooty like the Doddabetta Peak, Ooty Lake, or the Tribal Research Centre. You can also explore the nearby towns of Coonoor and Kotagiri. If you have less time, you can skip Pykara Waterfall and spend more time at Ooty Botanical Gardens and Government Rose Garden. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry sunscreen and water as the weather in Ooty can be unpredictable.
