Visit the Kedarnath Temple, located in the Rudra Himalaya Range, on the first day of your trip. This temple offers spectacular views of lush greenery, snow clad mountains, and a river flowing beside it. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the Char Dhams. Take the helicopter ride from Phata to reach the helipad which is the starting point of the trek to the temple. This trek of 14 km is an unmatched experience, filled with picturesque views and challenging terrain.
Embark on an early morning trek of 8 km to reach Vasuki Tal Lake, located at an altitude of 14,200 ft and surrounded by mountainous terrain. The lake is pristine with clear water reflecting the grandeur of the nearby mountains. The trek to the lake is a little difficult, but the views of the Himalayas and the Kedarnath range from the top are breathtakingly beautiful.
Start your day with a trek to Chorabari Tal, also known as Gandhi Sarovar, located at an altitude of 14,000 ft. The trek is 6 km from Vasuki Tal and takes about an hour and a half. The lake is surrounded by rocky terrain and offers splendid views of the Himalayan range. The lake is named in honor of Mahatma Gandhi, and a memorial built in his honor is located near the lake.
On the final day of your trip, visit the Kalimath Temple, dedicated to the goddess Kali. It is located on the banks of the River Mandakini and is surrounded by snow-clad peaks. The temple is believed to be one of the Shaktipeeths, and visiting it would bring good luck and happiness. The journey from Chorabari Tal to Kalimath can be covered by hiring a taxi and is a scenic one.
If you have an additional day, you could visit the nearby Gaurikund and the Guptkashi temples. You could also add an extra day to the trek to visit the snow-covered Kedarnath peak. If you have less time, you could skip the Chorabari Tal trek and directly proceed to Kalimath.
