Start your adventure by heading to the picturesque hill station of Munnar, known for its tea plantations and stunning views. Visit the Mattupetty Dam to enjoy boating and witness the natural beauty of the hills. After this, head to Top Station, which is the highest point in Munnar, and offers breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Trek to Meesapulimala Peak, the second highest peak in the Western Ghats, for a truly unique experience. Don't forget to visit the Eravikulam National Park to spot endangered species like Nilgiri Tahr and enjoy the beautiful landscape.
On the second day, head to Thekkady and experience the thrill of bamboo rafting at Periyar Lake, located inside the Periyar National Park. Take a walk around the spice plantation and learn about various spices grown in the area. If you're feeling adventurous, go on a night trek along the borders of the park (subject to availability). After this, relax at the Chellarkovil Viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the plains of Tamil Nadu and the cascading waterfalls.
If you only have one day, it is recommended to visit only Munnar and do the trek to Meesapulimala Peak for an adventurous experience. If you have extra time, you can explore the tea plantations in Munnar or take a cultural tour of Thekkady. Make sure to check the park timings before visiting and always carry a water bottle and comfortable shoes for trekking.
