Kodaikanal 2-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Kodaikanal Lake
    10 minutes (3.1 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Kodaikanal Lake is a manmade lake which is surrounded by misty hills and forests. Boating in the lake is a must-do activity. Apart from boating, cycling and horse riding are available too. The lake is surrounded by food stalls and shops making it an ideal spot for leisure time.

  2. Day 1: Coaker's Walk
    10 minutes (1.8 km) from Kodaikanal Lake

    Coaker's Walk is a pedestrian pathway offering panoramic views of the town and valley below. You can witness the stunning sunrise and sunset views of Kodaikanal from this walkway. Several viewpoints are located throughout the route.

  3. Day 1: Bryant Park
    5 minutes (1.5 km) from Coaker's Walk

    Bryant Park is a botanical park that features an array of flowers, hybrids, and rafts. It also hosts a horticulture exhibition annually in May. The park is an ideal place for nature lovers and photographers. Several food vendors are located at the park entrance.

  4. Day 2: Pillar Rocks
    30 minutes (8.5 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Pillar Rocks are a geological formation of three granite boulders reaching up to a height of 400 feet. The surroundings of the rocks have been developed into a beautiful garden. The view from this location during the monsoon season is breathtaking.

  5. Day 2: Guna Cave
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Pillar Rocks

    Guna Cave is a naturally occurring cave that got its name from a popular Tamil movie called "Guna" which was shot in this location. A flashlight and a guide are necessary while exploring the cave as it can be slippery.

  6. Day 2: Dolphin's Nose
    30 minutes (8.2 km) from Guna Cave

    Dolphin's Nose is a viewpoint that projects over a valley overlooking 6 towns making it a must-visit location for adventure seekers. This place offers an adrenaline-pumping experience with its magnanimous view of the valley down below. Trekking is one of the top activities in this location.

Useful tips

If you have extra time, you can check out the Bear Shola Falls, Telescope House, and the Berijam Lake. If you have a lesser amount of time, you can skip some activities and prefer to spend more time in your preferred location. Carry comfortable hiking shoes and clothes while trekking on Dolphin's Nose. Preferable time to visit Kodaikanal would be from October to March.
