Exploring Ooty in Two Days

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake

    Ooty Lake is a serene and picturesque lake that offers a range of activities, including boating and horse riding. Surrounded by eucalyptus trees, there are several places to sit and enjoy the view, making it a perfect place for a picnic. You can rent a pedal boat or motorboat and take a leisurely ride on the lake while enjoying the scenery.

  2. Day 1: Thread Garden

    Thread Garden is a one-of-a-kind attraction, displaying over 150 types of artificial flowers all made entirely of thread. It's a unique sight to see hundreds of flowers formed out of a single thread. The garden also has a souvenir shop, where you can buy handmade pieces of embroidery as souvenirs or gifts.

  3. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak
    20 minutes (8.5 km) from Thread Garden

    The Doddabetta Peak stands at an altitude of 2,623 meters, the highest peak in the Nilgiri range. At the top, there's an observation tower where you can get a panoramic view of the surrounding hills. You'll see tea gardens, dense forests, and a bird's eye view of Ooty town. It's an excellent place to have a cup of tea while enjoying the views.

  4. Day 2: Rose Garden
    15 minutes (4.2 km) from Government Botanical Garden

    The Rose Garden has over 20,000 varieties of roses, making it one of the largest rose gardens in India. In addition to roses, there are many other plants and flowers on display. The garden is well-maintained and offers plenty of places to sit and relax while admiring the flowers. There's also a shop on-site selling essential oils, perfumes, and rose water.

  5. Day 2: Government Botanical Garden
    10 minutes (3.6 km) from St. Stephen's Church

    The Government Botanical Garden is spread over 55 acres and has a collection of plants from all over the world. The garden is well organized, with separate sections for various plants such as bonsai, fern, and spices. The garden also has a Toda hill, where you can see a miniature Toda house. It's a perfect place to spend some peaceful time surrounded by nature.

The Tea Museum provides a detailed insight into the history of tea, including information on its origins, production, and varieties. In contrast, the Wax Museum showcases life-like wax statues of famous Indian personalities. If you have less time, skip the Thread Garden, as it may not be as impressive as the other attractions.
