Start your trip with a visit to Doddabetta Peak, the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills. Enjoy the panoramic views of Ooty's landscape and take a memorable photo at the Telescope House. You can also hike to the peak if you're feeling adventurous.
On your second day, explore the Botanical Garden, which spreads over 55 acres. Stroll through the lush gardens and admire the beautiful array of flowers and trees. After the botanical garden, head over to Ooty Lake. Go boating or enjoy a picnic by the lake.
Complete your trip with a ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that traverses through the lofty peaks, tunnels, and scenic bridges of Ooty. After your train ride, visit the Tea Factory to see how tea leaves are processed. Learn about the traditional process of tea-making and enjoy a sample of delicious tea.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Dolphin's Nose Viewpoint and the Lamb's Rock Viewpoint. If you have less time, skip the Botanical Gardens. Also, be sure to wear warm clothes as Ooty can be chilly, especially in the evenings. Finally, keep in mind that the Nilgiri Mountain Railway should be booked in advance to secure a spot on the train.
