5-Day Itinerary for Exploring Delhi

  1. Day 1: Old Delhi Heritage Walk

    Start exploring the city's history with a walk through Old Delhi. Visit the Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques. Take a rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Chandni Chowk, and explore the many temples and heritage buildings. At the end of the walk, enjoy some tasty Chaat at Paranthe Wali Gali.

  2. Day 2: Discovering Delhi's Archaeological Sites

    Start your day early with a visit to the Qutub Minar, a 73-meter high tower. Next, visit Humayun's Tomb, one of the most famous Mughal buildings in Delhi. Afterward, head north and visit the Red Fort, which was built in the 17th century by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

  3. Day 3: Exploring Cultural Centres

    Start your day visiting The National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum, which is home to over 35,000 Indian artifacts. Next, head to National Museum, which has a vast collection of Indian relics, and displays spanning both pre and post-independent India. In the evening visit the India Habitat Centre, the cultural hub of Delhi, and take experience the wide range of art, music and theatre performances.

  4. Day 4: Shopping and Street Food
    12:00 pm (Distance: 10.3km)

    Spend your day at the Dilli Haat Market, which sells traditional clothes, jewelry and handicrafts form all of India. Next, visit Lotus Temple, an important Bahá'í House of Worship. End the day with some delicious street food from the Khan Market.

  5. Day 5: Delhi's Modern Side
    1:00 pm (Distance: 7.8km)

    Start your day at the Lotus Temple. Next, take a tour of the Islamic Centre Gallery, which displays Islamic art, literature, and culture from around the world. In the evening visit Connaught Place, which is home to both modern brands and great restaurants.
