The Botanical Gardens is spread across 22 hectares and is home to a variety of flora and fauna. The garden is divided into several sections, including a fossil tree trunk, fern house, Italian garden and a conservatory where visitors can see potted plants. The gardens also offer stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Ooty Lake is a man-made lake created in the early 19th century. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride on the lake or take a leisurely walk around it. The lake is surrounded by eucalyptus trees, making it a great spot for a picnic.
Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiri Hills, standing at 2,623 meters above sea level. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Western and Eastern Ghats from the peak. There is also a telescope house at the peak which provides a closer view of the surrounding landscape.
If you have an extra day, consider visiting the Rose Garden or the Ooty Toy Train which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you have less time, you can skip Doddabetta Peak and spend more time exploring Botanical Gardens and Ooty Lake.
