Three-day Itinerary for Ooty

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Ooty Railway Station

    Enjoy a serene experience on the pristine waters of Ooty Lake, surrounded by lush green valleys and forests. You can even indulge in paddle boating or rowing here. The lake is open from 9 am to 6 pm daily.

  2. Day 2: Botanical Gardens
    18 minutes (6.5 km) from Ooty Lake

    Spread over 55 acres of land, the Botanical Gardens have an impressive collection of rare and exotic plants, including several varieties of ferns, herbal and bonsai plants. It is open from 7 am to 6:30 pm on all days except on Tuesdays.

  3. Day 3: Doddabetta Peak
    25 minutes (10.5 km) from Botanical Gardens

    At 8,651 feet above sea level, the view from the Doddabetta Peak is awe-inspiring with panoramic views of the entire Ooty valley and the surrounding hills. You can also visit the Telescope House here to get a better view of the surroundings. It is open every day from 7 am to 6 pm.

Useful tips

If you have an extra day, you can visit the Tea Museum and Factory, which is approximately 3 km from the Botanical Gardens and learn about the history of tea and how it's made. If you're short on time, you can skip visiting the Tea Museum and Factory or the Doddabetta Peak. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes, bring sunscreen and water, and check the opening and closing times of the places you want to visit beforehand to avoid disappointment.
