Start your first day at Doddabetta Peak - the highest peak in Nilgiri Mountain Range. You can enjoy panoramic views of the misty mountains, tea plantations and even the Mysore plateau from the peak. Make sure to carry warm clothing as it can get chilly up there. Spend about 2 hours enjoying the view.
Next, head to Ooty Lake – a serene lake surrounded by eucalyptus trees and beautiful gardens. You can indulge in boating activities or take a horse ride around the lake. Spend about 2 hours exploring the lake and gardens.
Begin your second day at Government Botanical Garden, which is spread over 55 acres. The garden has more than 650 species of flowers and trees, including a fossil tree believed to be over 20 million years old. You can enjoy a leisurely walk, take pictures or have a picnic here. Spend about 2 hours at the garden.
Next, visit St. Stephen's Church - one of the oldest churches in the Nilgiris, built in the 19th century. The church has beautiful stained glass windows and Gothic architecture. Spend about 30 minutes here.
End your day at the Tea Museum where you can learn about the history and process of tea making. You can also taste different varieties of tea and buy souvenirs. Spend about an hour and a half at the museum.
On your last day, visit Pykara Falls and Reservoir - a serene waterfall with a dam that is nestled amidst lush greenery. You can enjoy beautiful views and boating activities near the falls. Spend about 2 hours here.
End your trip at Rose Garden, which has a wide variety of roses and other flowers in different colours and sizes. You can take a walk, take amazing pictures, or enjoy a cup of tea/coffee in the small restaurant located inside the garden. Spend about an hour here.
If you have more time, you can visit other popular places like the Avalanche Lake, Emerald Lake, or the Needle Rock View Point. You can also go on a toy train ride from Ooty to Coonoor. If you have less time, you can skip places or reduce the time spent at each location.
