Spread over 22 hectares, the Government Botanical Garden is one of the oldest and most famous gardens in India. It boasts a vast collection of exotic plants, including a fossil tree that is millions of years old. The garden also has a picturesque Japanese rock garden and a fossilised tree trunk. It is open from 7 AM to 6:30 PM.
If you have more time, you can visit the Rose Garden and the Ooty Tribal Research Centre. For adventure enthusiasts, there are options for trekking and zip-lining near Doddabetta Peak. However, if you have less time, you can skip the Doddabetta Peak and visit the St. Stephen's Church and the Wax World Museum instead.
