Kudle beach is a peaceful and calm beach, popular for its serene surroundings and beautiful sunset views. There are plenty of shacks around the beach that serve lip-smacking food. After spending some time on the beach, head to the Om Beach (15 minutes from Kudle beach). Om beach is known for its distinctive shape and offers water sport activities such as banana boat rides, surfing, and jet-skiing. After lunch at one of the sea-facing shacks, take a stroll to the Half Moon Beach. A peaceful and secluded beach surrounded by hills, you can trek from Om beach to Half-moon beach. The trek is easy but requires a bit of effort. Watch the sunset at the Paradise Beach, which is a short 10-minute walk from the Half-moon beach.
Mahabaleswara Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. The temple is surrounded by palm trees and is situated at the confluence of the Aghanashini and Gangavalli rivers, which makes the temple a beautiful sight. From there, visit the Mirjan Fort (45 minutes drive). The fort is located on a hillock and offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. After having lunch, visit the Yana Caves (2 hours drive from Mirjan Fort). The Yana Caves are known for their unique rock formations, and the two caves are believed to have been formed millions of years ago. You have to trek to reach the caves, and it takes around an hour to explore both caves.
If you have more time, you can visit other nearby attractions such as the Banana Beach, Belekan Beach or you can go for trekking/hiking to the Dudhsagar Falls or Sahyadri Range. If you have less time, you can skip visiting the Yana Caves. And, it is always recommended to carry a sunscreen, hat, and comfortable clothing while traveling in Gokarna.
