3-Day Ooty Itinerary for Families

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake

    Ooty Lake is a picturesque artificial lake built by John Sullivan in 1824. Surrounded by eucalyptus trees, it is a perfect place for families to go boating and have a picnic. There are also horse rides and a toy train that kids will love. Don't forget to try the delicious street food near the lake.

  2. Day 2: Government Botanical Garden
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Ooty Lake

    The Government Botanical Garden is a beautiful tourist spot located on the slopes of Doddabetta Peak. It is spread over 22 hectares and has a variety of exotic plants and flowers. There is also a fossil tree that is believed to be 20 million years old. Kids will enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the toy train ride.

  3. Day 3: Doddabetta Peak
    30 minutes (10 km) from Government Botanical Garden

    Doddabetta Peak is the highest mountain in the Nilgiris and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding valley. There is a telescope house where you can get a better view for a small fee. After taking in the views, you can head to the nearby tea gardens for a delicious cup of tea.
