Located bang in the middle of the town, Kodaikanal Lake is a manmade, star-shaped lake that's perfect for spending a lazy afternoon by. You can go boating on the lake, have street food by the shore, or just take a peaceful walk and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding hills. The lake is open daily from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, and the boating fee is INR 125 per person for 30 minutes.
Pillar Rocks are a set of three massive rocks standing tall at a height of 122 meters. You can get a beautiful view of the valley below from here. The rocks are also popular for trekking and rock climbing, so carry your gear if you wish to indulge in adventure sports. The viewpoint is open from 9 AM to 4 PM, and the entry fee is INR 5 per person.
Coaker's Walk is a narrow, manmade walking path constructed on the mountains. It offers a stunning view of the surrounding valleys and hills. You can capture some beautiful panoramic views of the Ghats on your camera. The place is open from 7 AM to 7 PM, and the entry fee is INR 10 per person.
If you have more time, you can consider visiting other popular places in Kodaikanal like Berijam Lake, Bear Shola Falls, or the Dolphin's Nose viewpoint. If you have less time, you can skip visiting Pillar Rocks but make sure to visit Coaker's Walk for a beautiful view of the valley.
