2-Day Itinerary for Ooty

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    10-minute drive (2.5 km) from Ooty town center

    Ooty Lake is an artificial lake built in 1825 and covers 65 acres. Visitors can enjoy boating, horse riding and cycling around the lake. The lake is surrounded by eucalyptus trees with scenic views of the Nilgiri Mountains.

  2. Day 1: Government Botanical Gardens
    10-minute drive (2.1 km) from Ooty Lake

    The Government Botanical Gardens is spread over 55 acres and houses approximately 650 species of flowers and trees. Visitors can take a stroll through various themed gardens like Italian Garden, Flower Garden, and Pebble Garden. There is also a fossilized tree trunk that is said to be 20 million years old.

  3. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    20-minute drive (7.5 km) from Ooty town center

    Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiri Mountains and offers panoramic views of the surrounding areas. There is an observation tower that provides a 360-degree view of the mountain range. Visitors can also take a short trek to the peak.

  4. Day 2: Tea Museum
    15-minute drive (6.3 km) from Doddabetta Peak

    The Tea Museum is located inside a functioning tea factory and showcases the history of tea production in Ooty. Visitors can learn about the various processes involved in tea production and purchase different varieties of tea.
