Located on a hill at an altitude of 1312m, Sinhagad Fort provides a panoramic view of the stunning landscape of Pune city. The fort is famous for its historical significance, and the majestic gate that greets you as you enter. The fort also has two temples dedicated to godesses, located a few meters apart and a lake named Dev Taake for boating enthusiasts.
A freshwater lake situated in the suburb of Pune city, Pashan Lake, is a nature lover’s paradise. It is home to more than 160 species of birds, and bird enthusiasts can spot several migratory bird species here. Additionally, this lake has picnic spots and a jogging track.
Parvati Hill lies in the center of Pune City and has a steep flight of stairs with more than 100 steps to climb to the top. Upon reaching the summit, visitors are greeted with panoramic views of the city and a museum where you can explore the history of the Peshwas and their empire. Parvati hill also has several temples built-in AD 1750, dedicated to various gods.
Osho Garden, shaded by the mighty green trees in Koregaon Park, is an idyllic place for travelers to relax and recharge. The garden is home to cascading waterfalls, and while walking on the paths, you can watch turtles and birds alongside a variety of trees and plants. Meditation sessions and yoga classes are also available for visitors who want to learn about spirituality and different forms of meditation.
If you have more time, you can visit other nature places in Pune, such as Mulshi Lake, Panshet Dam or Raigad Fort. In case you have less time, consider visiting one point of interest in the morning and one in the evening of Day 1. On Day 2, start early with Parvati Hill as the temperature will rise in the afternoon.
