Do not forget to bring warm clothing for the evening and mosquito repellent.
Magic Hills is a scenic viewpoint that offers breathtaking views of the hills and valleys of Thekkady. The drive to the viewpoint is an experience in itself, as you navigate through winding roads and a dense forest. The viewpoint is also a great spot for bird watching, and wildlife sightings, especially Nilgiri tahr. Ideal time for visit will be early morning or late afternoon. Do not forget to carry binoculars for wildlife viewing.
Thekkady is visited by a lot of tourists, expect moderate crowds, and plan your itinerary accordingly. Do carry warm clothing if you are visiting Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the evening. Better to start the day early to avoid tourist crowds. If you have additional time, you can consider a visit to Elephant Junction, which offers an up-close experience with elephants, or trek to the Ramakkalmedu peak for panoramic views of the Western Ghats. If you have less time, you can eliminate the Magic Hills viewpoint from the itinerary.
