Start your trip to Coorg by visiting the birthplace of the Cauvery River at Talacauvery. It's a beautiful and serene location with a small temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. From here, head to Bhagamandala where you can witness the confluence of the three rivers - Cauvery, Kannika, and Sujyothi. You can also visit the Bhagandeshwara Temple, a popular pilgrimage spot among locals.
Start day two at Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can interact with elephants and even go for an elephant ride. Then head to Abbey Falls, a scenic and peaceful waterfall surrounded by coffee plantations. The falls are in their full might during monsoon. Don't forget to carry an extra pair of clothes as you can swim in the pools at the base of the falls.
Start day three at Namdroling Monastery, the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. The monastery is impressive and serene, and you can witness the monks chanting and performing their religious duties. Then head to Coorg Cliffs Resort, a perfect place for nature lovers to indulge in birdwatching and hiking.
If you have more time in Coorg, you can also visit the Madikeri Fort, Raja's Seat, Talakaveri Wildlife Sanctuary, and Nagarhole National Park. However, if you have less time, you can skip visiting Abbey Falls or Coorg Cliffs Resort. It's best to start your day early in Coorg and carry water bottles and snacks with you while traveling.
