After Eravikulam National Park, visit the Mattupetty Dam and Lake, which is just a few kilometres from the park. This artificial lake is nestled amidst lush greenery and is a popular spot for boating and picnicking. It is open daily from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Start your day by visiting the Tata Tea Museum, where you can learn about the history and culture of tea-making in Munnar. This museum showcases various stages of tea processing, different tea-making machines and also offers tea tasting. The museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
After the museum, stroll through the lush green tea gardens of Munnar, and learn about the tea plucking and processing techniques from the local workers. The cool climate and refreshing scent of tea leaves will definitely make your walk an enjoyable experience. However, keep in mind that the tea gardens have specific visiting hours and are not open for tourists during tea plucking or processing time.
Munnar has many other attractions like the Attukal Waterfalls, Kundala Dam Lake, and Top Station Viewpoint that you can explore if you have additional time. However, some of these sites have limited access at certain times or during specific seasons. Always check the operating hours and seasonality before planning to visit them. Keep in mind the climate can be unpredictable, so dressing in layers is recommended.
